Welcome
This policy explains what personal information Douro, part of Prentice Hospitality Group (“Douro,” “we,” “us”), collects through douroportland.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It also covers information you share when you book, buy a gift card or contact us. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
We don’t sell your personal information.
What we collect
What you give us:
Reservations: your name, email, phone number, party size, and any notes you add, like allergies or a celebration
Gift cards: your name, email and payment details, plus the recipient’s name, email and message if you send one as a gift
Private dining and event inquiries: your name, contact details, company, event date, guest count and anything else you tell us
Emails and messages: whatever you send us at info@douroportland.com, through a contact form or on social media
Email sign up: your email address and any preferences you choose
What we collect automatically: When you visit the site, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you got to the site, and general location based on your IP address. See Cookies and analytics below.
Payment details: Card payments are processed by our payment partners, such as Toast. We don’t store full card numbers on our own systems.
How we use it
To take, confirm and manage your reservations, and to remind you about them
To sell, deliver and support gift cards
To plan private dining and events and follow up on inquiries
To answer your questions and look after you at the table, including noting allergies and preferences you share
To send news, menus and offers if you’ve signed up, which you can stop anytime
To understand how the site is used and make it work better
To prevent fraud, keep the site secure and meet legal requirements
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run the restaurant and the site:
SevenRooms, which handles our reservations
Toast, which handles gift cards and payments
Other Prentice Hospitality Group restaurants, since our gift cards work across the group and we may share guest details within PHG to look after you
Squarespace, which hosts our website and its built-in analytics
Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect our rights, guests, staff or property
A future owner if Douro or PHG is ever sold or reorganized
These partners have their own privacy policies, which apply to the information they handle.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar tools to keep it working, remember your preferences and show us how visitors use it. Our website runs on Squarespace, which uses its built-in analytics to show us which pages people visit and how they found the site. SevenRooms may also use cookies when you book a table.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Your choices
Emails: Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Reservation confirmations and reminders will still come through.
Texts: SevenRooms may text you about your reservation. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
Your information: You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email info@douroportland.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, and we’ll honor them as required.
The fine print
Security: We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or system is completely secure.
How long we keep it: We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires.
Children: The site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has shared information with us, let us know and we’ll delete it.
Changes: We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
